As a community we built an off-grid round straw bale building, with lime washed walls and a living reciprocal roof.
In May 2016 we ran a workshop on building with straw. During the week-long course participants learned to build with straw bales, to apply a lime rendering, and made a start on a reciprocal roof. The building construction was finished over several community work days.
Summer Roundhouse Workdays
We have begun the refurbishment of the Roundhouse at Hawkwood so we can hire it to community groups and SCA members, hopefully from September.
